ENGA PHA FIRST TAX RETURNS TO IRC AUGUST 2025
The Enga Provincial Health Authority (EPHA) has marked a historic achievement in its institutional journey by becoming a fully compliant taxpayer organization under the taxation laws of Papua New Guinea. In August 2025, EPHA proudly remitted PGK 53,049.04 in taxes, a landmark accomplishment since its establishment in 2014.
This milestone demonstrates EPHA’s commitment not only to delivering quality health services to the people of Enga Province but also to upholding transparency, accountability, and good governance in financial management.
For more than a decade, the Authority’s focus has been on building its systems, strengthening health infrastructure, and responding to the pressing needs of the population. Over this period, the organization has steadily improved its administrative and financial capacity. The successful alignment with national taxation requirements represents the culmination of years of hard work and institutional growth.
Chief Executive Officer Dr Vincent Pyakalyia commended the Finance and Administration team for their dedication, stating:
“This achievement reflects our maturity as an organization. We are not only saving lives and improving health outcomes but also contributing responsibly to the national economy. Becoming a tax-compliant organization is proof of our integrity and commitment to serve with accountability.”
The milestone has also been acknowledged by the Internal Revenue Commission (IRC) as a sign of progress in strengthening compliance culture among statutory authorities in the country. EPHA’s contribution will support broader government services while reinforcing its reputation as a responsible public institution.
Looking ahead, the Enga Provincial Health Authority is committed to maintaining its compliance and setting higher standards in financial management. This achievement marks a new chapter for the organization—demonstrating that sound governance and service delivery go hand in hand in building a healthier, stronger Enga Province.
